Perhaps the claim that everything in this world was invented before us is not so and groundless. But admit that a tower hanging from the sky could have been invented by some sci-fi writer, and talk of realizing it in reality was not discussed ... until recently.
New York architectural firm Clouds Architecture Office intends to create a project that, in the literal sense, will overturn our notion of architecture! A skyscraper hanging from the sky and built on an asteroid located above orbit. This fantastical creation will have its first floor in space, while the roof will be situated in the sky above Earth.
The skyscraper called Analemma Tower is planned to be built over Dubai. Its foundation will be attached by cables to an asteroid, and the modules assembled on Earth will, in turn, be attached to the foundation. The tower itself will follow a trajectory resembling a figure-eight, and at the lowest point of its orbit the building will pass over Manhattan. According to the architects, it will be a mixed-use building that will embody planetary design and become the tallest structure ever built by humans.
Energy for the Tower (by the way, in Odessa you can also buy an apartment in the Tower) will come from solar panels placed in space, and water - from clouds and rain.
On the lower floors there will be business centers, in the middle residential blocks, and at the very top religious and funeral facilities. The size and shape of the windows will depend on height, atmosphere, and temperature outside.
While space construction has not yet gained massive scale, construction of
new buildings in Odessa is not slowing down.
