First 3D-printed house in Germany. Successful project in the city of Bekkum confirms that 3D printing technology is ready for market launch 13.08.21

The two-story building with an area of 160 sq.m. was printed in Bekkum by German building materials supplier PERI using a COBOD BOD2 3D printer, with financial and administrative support from regional authorities.

The opening ceremony took place on July 26 this year, with the participation of the Minister of Internal Affairs, local government, construction and equality of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Ina Scharrenbach.

Local authorities allocated 200 thousand euros for the project implementation under the support program innovative construction.

For the construction of the "box" company PERI started already in September last year (September 17, 2020). Here they used an already traditional method, implying 3D printing of non-removable formwork with manual reinforcement and filling, installation of floors, windows, doors and utilities.

The formwork was printed directly on top of the foundation using a large-format construction 3D printer from Danish company COBOD. The layer deposition speed on such a printer reaches 1 m/s or about three and a half cubic meters of cement mixture per hour.
