Literally until recently, ceramic brick was the main material for mass construction of buildings. However, over the past hundred years, completely new, cheaper building materials have appeared, such as silicate brick or aerated concrete. Even with its high cost, it provides exceptional durability of brick buildings. External brick walls do not require additional insulation and have a flawless aesthetic appearance.

Ceramic brick is also called red due to its characteristic «brick» color. However, the coloration of red brick can vary – from yellow to dark brown, depending on the type of clay used to make the brick, as well as production specifics. In general, ceramic brick is an artificial stone made from clay fired at high temperature and having a special shape that is most convenient for laying various elements of building structures, in particular – walls.

Ceramic brick possesses high strength, which, with quality masonry, gives the structure durability and resistance to many kinds of external influences. Thus, properly executed brickwork is very difficult to destroy, not without reason the walls of many ancient fortresses were built precisely from ceramic brick. Numerous brick buildings constructed from this material hundreds and thousands of years ago still stand to this day, and many are suitable for operation.
