Do you want to be able to fly or walk among the clouds? Imagine sitting, for example, in an office, working, working, then you open the window and step out for a break to get some fresh air. There's no need to twirl your finger at your temple — employees of one office in the Polish city of Gliwice can allow themselves that. And it's all because outside their third-floor window there is an unusual balcony with living greenery. The architectural group Zalewski developed the concept of a pedestrian balcony suspended over the center of the building's courtyard. Thus, from what seemed like an unrealistic idea that arose during one hot summer day in the office, a solution emerged that not only changed the dull view of the courtyard but also added a bit of magic to it.

On this balcony, the winds freely intertwine with each other, and you can leisurely walk from office to office on the green grass, which can grow as it pleases. The dark courtyard — a well — which was the core of the problem, actually became the inspiration for its solution. The installation method suggested itself. The mounting on the wall of each house allows an 80-centimeter strip of greenery to seemingly float in the air. From the ground, the balcony appears even narrower than it actually is, because its base consists of polished metal. Usually form follows function, but sometimes form follows pleasure. And this balcony follows that path.
