This morning, Maria woke up to her mother's cough. It was Sunday, and there was no need to rush anywhere. She lived with her mother in a small two-room apartment. Now, on the eve of the new year, in their corner apartment in a regular panel high-rise, it was, to put it mildly, "not warm". Despite the hellish heating tariffs, they still had to additionally turn on an electric heater in her mother's bedroom in winter. The corner of her mother's room in the winter months was sometimes covered with condensation, which made the apartment smell musty. Her mother often got sick.
Maria and her mother had a good relationship. However, Maria didn't like to invite guests over, and the reason was the same - the musty smell.
Yesterday's Saturday evening, Maria spent at her friends' place. Olya and Kolya had bought an apartment in a new building in Odessa three years ago, and two years later, they had already done repairs. Their neighbor, Anton, was also at dinner. Anton had a face, but in communication, he seemed very smart and pleasant. He was a bit shy but was clearly interested in Maria.
Maria didn't want to get out of her warm bed; she lay there and thought. She had some savings. She had already visited the offices of developers several times, but she reasonably understood that it was impossible to buy an apartment in Odessa cheaply, and even on installment, she couldn't afford it herself. "I wonder what Anton's apartment is like? Yesterday it was clear that he was alone, and he was clearly interested in me. He's not bad, but such a guy will hardly write first" Her mother coughed again. "Lately, my mom's health hasn't been very good. I wish I could sell this wretched two-room apartment and buy my mom a cheap apartment in a new building, but it would only be enough for a one-room apartment. And what, live with my mom in one room? Or move somewhere else myself?". After lying there for a bit, Maria took her phone and typed a message.
Hi, Anton. You boasted yesterday that you could skate well and were ready to give a couple of free lessons…
