According to information posted on the website of the Odessa City Council, a new stage of overhaul works on Preobrazhenskaya Street is beginning. This time the works will be carried out on the section from Bunin Street to Sofievskaya Street. The previous stage of works on the section from Zhukovskogo Street to Bunin Street is nearing completion.
This overhaul of the street is being carried out as part of the implementation of the tram route «North-South», which is intended to connect the Kotovskogo Settlement and the Tairova Housing Estate. The high-speed tram will make it possible to travel from the Settlement to the city center or from Tairova to the city center in just 20–30 minutes, and across the whole city in 40–50 minutes!
On the section from Bunin Street to Sofievskaya Street, new tram tracks made of precast reinforced concrete slabs will be laid, with rails installed and the tram contact network replaced.
