No matter how beautifully diamonds sparkle behind the glass of expensive boutiques and how sable coats and jaguar furs lure you in luxurious display windows, taking a stroll through the bustling market to pick something special for lunch, or just an ordinary but incredibly tasty herring, - this is a special pleasure!
In every country in the world, and even in several cities of one country, there are certainly such markets that are not only a Mecca for gourmets, but also a must-visit place for tourists!
Despite the abundance of markets in Odessa that are popular among both locals and visitors (in particular the famous Privoz market), they mostly belong to the category of 'bread', although sometimes you can see colorful 'spectacles' there. And yet, there has still been no continuously operating (non-festival) establishment of the 'bread and spectacles' format in Odessa.

This unfortunate oversight was decided to be corrected by the ideological inspirer of the new place called 'City Food Market' – Odessa restaurateur Alex Cooper. In June 2017, in the historic building of the Odessa Commercial Bank built in 1912, at the corner of Richelievskaya and Greek Streets, the opening of a unique venue will take place. As Alex Cooper's presentation states, the City Food Market is a place of gastronomic meetings, covering an area of 1200 m2. Here one will be able to buy a wide assortment of local and foreign food products, drinks, delicacies, vegan dishes, and so on. Purchasing and eating delicacies is still far from all that the City Food Market will offer. On the second floor of the building there will be a stage for musical performances, restaurants and cafés.

Alex believes that this place will become a mandatory stop on the tourist routes of Odessa!
