Every year before December 31 we make plans for the next year, we promise ourselves, we think about how to achieve what we want and simply dream. What did Odessa, represented by state officials, promise to accomplish in 2017?
Our beloved Potemkin Stairs will be restored by summer 2017. The start of its repair was set in May 2016, when the city, within the framework of the program to include Odessa's historic center in the UNESCO World Heritage List, allocated funds first for inspection, and then for the reconstruction of the stairs. Strengthening the limestone, ventilation, waterproofing, clearing passages, and plastering the side panels will allow the stairs in their authentic form to last at least another 100 years. The city budget allocated 15 million hryvnias for this.

Two such contradictory and interconnected projects, namely the creation of the Turkish and Greek Parks on the slopes of Primorsky Boulevard, are also planned to be carried out in 2017. Funds for the construction of the Turkish Park are allocated by the Istanbul administration. Sculptures, fountains, children's playgrounds, a park, and a restaurant. On the sketches everything looks beautiful, however, disputes between architects, who are fighting to preserve authentic classicism in Odessa's architecture, and developers, continue. Architects believe that due to excessive dimensions and forms, the new object will disrupt the composition of the Vorontsov Palace. Moreover, Odessa has plenty of architectural masterpieces that are in a deplorable state, and it would be more reasonable to allocate funds for their reconstruction. What's more to say about the fact that healthy trees growing on the slopes were cut down to clear the site for the Greek Park.

The social platform «My City» will create «Fairy Tale Pages» – wonderful benches in the shape of open books inspired by fairy tales: «Alice in Wonderland», «Beauty and the Beast», «Cinderella», and many others. The funding amount is 27 thousand hryvnias.

The sculpture «Love» by Alexander Milov, well known beyond Ukraine's borders, will be installed at the site of the abandoned fountain near the «Zvezdy» cinema.

They plan to complete the repair of the Odessa-Reni highway by summer 2017.

A new bus station will be opened on Starosenna Square, intended to relieve the center of Odessa and eliminate traffic jams near the railway station.

The streets of our Odessa will soon be adorned by electric buses that the municipal enterprise «Odesgorelektrotrans» plans to purchase in the quantity of 10 units. The total capacity of these beauties is no less than 100 passengers, and on a single charge they can travel about 120 km.

It is planned to open a new route: Primorskaya Street – Balkovskaya Street – Melnitskaya Street – Khmelnytskogo Street – Malaya Arnautskaya Street – railway station, and from there alongD
